| GT564 - Version V is setup with only wall accessories including a docking station with two open bins, the Hook Pak Set with 18 hanger hooks, a Towel Rack and a 48" Shelf. In the "planned" 64" W x 48" H space for these accessories, there is still a generous amount of space to add other accessories to accommodate your specific needs. Although shown holding various garden tools, the hanger hooks are useful for holding many different individual garden, workshop or hobby tools. GT565 - Version VI includes the same accessories as the above Version V, but also includes a workbench with a 24” x 48” x 1 1/2” thick laminated Bamboo top. The intent of offering these versions with & without the workbench is to provide you a choice of ordering other table styles (ie Wall Mounted Table, GT1305E or a Folding Table, GT1315E) instead of the included standup workbench, SG2850E. Remember as a Lifestyle Kit purchase, the pricing is 10% less than if the products were purchased individually and although the setups are shown in specific arrangements in the images on the Product’s pages, the accessories can be rearranged / reconfigured in the same 5ft x 8ft space very easily. | II. Spring Cleanup Project – aka, Cleaning Out and Organizing your Garage. Spring weather has finally come to most of the country and now is a good time to think about making your garage a clean and safe part of your home before you get involved in all those summer time activities. Some points to consider: 1. It doesn’t have to be an “All-or-Nothing” situation. You probably accumulated everything over a long period of time and the project doesn’t have to be finished in one weekend. Actually taking your time gives you the opportunity to think and rethink about how you want the finished setup to be done. 2. Start in one area or along one wall. Think in terms of setting up activity zones, ie. gardening tools & supplies, sports & outdoor equipment storage, kids toys, a workshop area, a bulk storage area, etc. As a starting point review the 42 product setups on the Lifestyle Kit Products page. There are many ideas shown organizing and storing different types of items using this zone concept. You can also review the White Papers – Lifestyle Kits Explained and Lifestyle Kit Categories for a more detailed explanation of how the Lifestyle Kit was developed and what specific categories are available. 3. If you would like help in planning what can be done, we offer two alternatives. There is a White Paper – Wall Systems Planning Guide. This is intended for the DIYer / Handyperson who wants to get involved into the details of the planning & installation of our products. There is also our no charge (free) Design Services option. You supply us the basic information of what you want to store / organize & the wall dimensions and we provide a design proposal complete with architectural renderings and bills of materials of the components required. Usually several alternatives are presented. The White Paper – Design Services explains how the process works with several examples shown. |

- Workbench Hobby Setup w/ Bins & Shelves Lifestyle Kit - Version VII
- Workbench Hobby Setup w/ Table, Bins & Shelves Lifestyle Kit - Version VIII
The Workbench Hobby Setup Lifestyle Kit - Version VII is a suggested grouping of shelves, clips, and bins organized above and next to a workbench. This setup is intended to maximize the possibilities to hang and store small items that might be used in various hobbies.
Version VIII has the same accessories as the above Version VII, but also includes a workbench with a 24” x 48” x 1 1/2” thick laminated Bamboo top. Version VIII also includes an additional 24” Shelf shown mounted between the legs of the workbench.
The accessories included in both versions are the two docking stations and the eight open bins (There are four medium bins and four small bins.) and four mini clips are handy for mounting small items such as pictures, clocks and even clothing. The included shelves are intended to hold supplies and larger items.
As a Lifestyle Kit purchase, this is a more economical purchase than if these accessories were purchased as single units. Currently Lifestyle Kits are priced 10% less than if the products were purchased individually. Although shown in a specific setup in the images on the Product’s pages, the accessories can be rearranged / reconfigured in the same 5ft x 8ft space very easily.
The intent of offering Version VII without the workbench is to provide you a choice of ordering other table styles (ie Wall Mounted Table, GT1305E or a Folding Table, GT1315E) instead of the included standup workbench, SG2850E in Version VIII.
Lifestyle Kits – The Concept

- Hobby Center / Racket & Skate Rack Lifestyle Kit - Version V
The Hobby Center / Skate & Racket Racks Lifestyle Kit - Version V is a suggested grouping of racks, shelves and holders centered around the Hobby Center & Skate Rack to store / organize all manner and variety of items for different sports.
The Hobby Center is designed to store & organize a great deal of sporting equipment in a very concentrated space. It has three shelves, hanger hooks, a side storage holder and a removable canvas bag. The removable canvas bag can be loaded with bats & balls, removed & taken to a game and then returned to the rack when finished.
The Skate Activity Rack can hold skates with blades or wheels and even Razor boards and the Racket Activity Rack primarily is used for tennis rackets, but can also hold rackets from other sports.
The Utility Hanger can hold hats, jackets, helmets and gloves. The 24" Shelves are typically placed higher on the wall for easy access storage of those larger items such as duffel bags, carrying cases or those items not as frequently used. A Shoe Shelf is also included in this setup.
This is the last of five versions of a Hobby Lifestyle Kit of which all include the Hobby Center as the basis of the design. The previous four versions can be reviewed on the Lifestyle Kit Product page.
If you like the idea(s) shown in this kit, but feel substituting a different accessory(s) for some of those shown would better suit your needs, the suggestion would be to build your own kit by purchasing the items separately.

- Workbench Setup w/ Tip Out Bins Lifestyle Kit - Version III
- Workbench Setup w/ Tip Out Bins Lifestyle Kit - Version IV
The Workbench Setup w/ w/ Tip Out Bins Lifestyle Kit - Version III is a suggested grouping of shelves, clips, tip out bins, and open bins organized around a shop or hobby workbench. This setup is intended to maximize the possibilities to hang and store small items that might be used in various hobbies.
Version IV has the same accessories as Version III plus a workbench and additional 24” Shelf. Version III provides you a choice of ordering an alternate workbench table, such as the Wall Mounted Table, GT1305E or a Folding Table, GT1315E instead of the included workbench with Version IV.
The main elements of this setup are the three Tip Outs Bin Racks and the five open Bins. (There are two medium Bins and three large Bins.) They can to be stacked or rest on the supplied 48” shelf. Another option would be to use a Docking Station (GT3011E) for mounting the bins directly on the wall panel. The docking Station is not supplied with this kit and would be purchased as a separate item.
The four mini clips are handy for mounting small items such as pictures, first aid kits, etc. The included Hang All Bracket is typically used in this layout for small ladders, brooms, and sweepers and the 48" and 24" shelves are intended to hold supply items and tool chests as shown in the above images.

The Hobby Center Lifestyle Kits - Versions III & IV is a continuation in the series of suggested grouping of racks, shelves and holders centered around the Hobby Center to store and organize all manner and variety of items for different sports.
The Hobby Center is designed to store & organize a great deal of sporting equipment in a concentrated space. It has three shelves, hanger hooks, a side storage holder and a removable canvas bag. The removable canvas bag can be loaded with bats & balls, removed & taken to a game and then returned to the rack when finished.
Version III includes the Racket Rack which is primarily used for tennis racks but can hold rackets from other sports. It also includes the Utility Hanger to hold hats, jackets, helmets and gloves, a Shoe Shelf and three 24” Shelves which are typically placed higher on the wall for easy access storage of those larger items such as duffel bags, carrying cases or those items not as frequently used.
Version IV has a Stick Activity Rack which is one of the most versatile sports racks. It can be setup to store / organize so many different “sticks” – baseball bats, lacrosse sticks, hockey sticks, fishing poles, and umbrellas, etc. The Utility Hanger can hold hats, jackets, helmets and gloves. The 24" Shelf is typically placed higher on the wall for easy access storage of those larger items such as duffel bags, carrying cases or those items not as frequently used. A handy Shoe Shelf is also included in this setup.
Please check out the previously released Versions I & II of this Kit; all of which include the Hobby Center as the basis of the setup, but each having different sports storage racks, such as the Ball Holders and the Skate Rack. We wish a belated Happy New Year to you and your family. It has been a busy beginning of the year. We just finished moving to a new facility and the eStore software was migrated to a faster computer server. The facility move was seamless, the software / computer migration not so much. We experienced several days when the eStore was “closed”, but everything is fine now.

The Workbench Setup w/ Hook Pak Lifestyle Kit - Version I is a suggested grouping of shelves, hooks, brackets and tool holders organized around a shop / hobby workbench area. This setup is intended to maximize the possibilities to hang, store and organize small hand tools.
Version II has the same accessories as Version I plus a workbench and additional 24” Shelf. This provides you a choice of ordering Version I if you want to use an alternate workbench table, such as the Wall Mounted Table, GT1305E or a Folding Table, GT1315E instead of the included workbenchincluded in Version II.
The main element(s) of this setup is the 18 piece set of hooks in the Hook Pak Set. There are 9 single arm hooks and 9 double arm hooks. The included Tool Holder Rack offers an additional 62 openings for storage of small tools such as screw drivers, pliers, scissors, wrenches, etc.

Hurricane Sandy Post Script
Our offices are located on Long Island, NY and the shipping warehouse is in New Jersey. Both locations were without electrical power for over a week, but experienced no damage from this recent storm. Shipping resumed as soon as power was restored. We feel very, very fortunate compared to the hundred thousand plus persons who lost or experienced damage to their homes and businesses.

- 30" Resin Shelf - 2 pcs
The 30” Resin Shelf is packaged / shipped as a 2 piece set. These shelves have a solid top surface and offer you a medium duty solution to your storage needs. This has been the most requested item to be added to the eStore.
The shelf is designed with a full width bracket across its back which provides maximum support and rigidity when loaded. This shelf also has a full width front "safety edge". The front "safety edge" is a raised lip to prevent objects from rolling or sliding off the shelf. This shelf is injection molded using the engineered resin - high density, impact resistant polystyrene.
Higher load capacity shelf alternatives are the all metal 24" Shelf - GT7005A and 48" Shelf - GT7005.
- Golf / Racket Activity Racks Activity Lifestyle Kit - Version I
- Golf / Stick Activity Racks Activity Lifestyle Kit - Version II
The Golf / Racket Activity Racks Lifestyle Kit - Version I (shown below) is a grouping of GarageTek accessories which include the Golf Rack, the Racket Rack, one Shallow Basket and two 24” Shelves.
The Golf / Stick Activity Racks Lifestyle Kit - Version II (not shown here) is a grouping of accessories including the Golf Rack, the Stick Rack and two shelves.
The Golf Rack holds two golf bags plus has a shelf and a basket to hold accessories. The two shelves are shown storing additional accessories for tennis and golf, but certainly could be used for any other related sports items. The basket is shown storing a roller blade set and helmet.
The Stick Activity Rack can be used for many different sports – baseball, fishing, hockey, lacrosse, etc.
All of the supplied racks, shelves and basket can be easily arranged and rearranged in the specified 5 ft wide x 8 ft high space shown.

- Lawn & Garden Lifestyle Kit - Version IV
- Lawn & Garden Lifestyle Kit - Version VI
The Lawn & Garden Lifestyle Kit - Version IV is a grouping of GarageTek accessories which includes 3 shelves, 2 baskets, 4 bins, 2 in-line tool holders, 1 towel rack, 7 hanger hooks and 1 single long handled tool holder centered around a Wall Mounted table with a butcher block top.
The Lawn & Garden Lifestyle Kit - Version VI has the same accessories as the above kit except instead of a Wall Mounted Table, it has a Folding Table.
This table top is unique in that it is constructed of laminated bamboo. It has a very dense, hard work surface which will last a lifetime. The top is 24” deep x 48” long x 1 1/2" high and the front has a top rounded edge. The color is natural and similar to beech wood in appearance.
This Wall Mounted Table setup would be the recommendation when having adequate space on the side walls or back wall to accommodate the 24" table top depth. The folding table would be the choice when space is "tight".
There are four other versions of these Lawn & Garden Lifestyle Kits. Two have the resin table tops (instead of the butcher block top) and two have no tables, but more storage accessories. All of these setups are very versatile and allows you the choice of which one would best fit your needs and lifestyle.These kits are also located in the eStore's Lifestyle Kit Product Category.
Looking at the Lifestyle Kit Product Category page you would not know they are being developed in specific categories; they are shown on a single page as 30 different random items.
This "single page view" was intentional in that we did not want to add another “layer” of links to get to the products and viewing them all on one page at least gives one an overview of everything.

- Bike / Racket Activity Racks Lifestyle Kit – Version I

These Lifestyle Kits each include a Vertical Bike Rack and other choices of sports activity racks – either a Racket Rack or a Stick Rack or both. Each kit also includes either 24” Shelves or shallow baskets to store additional sporting accessories.

- Wall Mount Table with Butcher Block Top
The Wall Mount Table with Butcher Block Top is a complete setup of the wall mount table brackets, a shelf and the table top.
There are two full width slatwall brackets which mount into the slatwall or trak maximizing the rigidity of the table. A shelf measuring 12” x 31” is supplied and mounted under the table for additional storage.
The supplied table top is unique in that it is constructed of laminated bamboo. It has a very dense, hard work surface which will last a lifetime. This Table Top is 24” deep x 48” long x 1 1/2" high and the front has a top rounded edge.
The design and heavy duty construction of this table provides the rigidity and strength for your most demanding projects. There are no table legs to get in your way. The table is fully supported by angled brackets mounted on the wall.
If you prefer a resin top, the choice would be GT1305E. If you already have a top or maybe prefer a different size, just the Wall Mounting Brackets and Shelf are offered as a separate item, GT1305-1E. The Wall Mount Table with Butcher Block Top is located in the eStore’s Product Category - Workbenches.
- Folding Table with Butcher Block Top
The Folding Table with Butcher Block Top provides a versatile and convenient work station in the garage or your workshop for working on your gardening, arts & crafts projects or other hobbies and provides the feature of being able to “fold down” when not in use.
There are no table legs to get your way or worry about collapsing. The table is fully supported by the folding arm assemblies with two full width back support brackets which mount into the slatwall or trak. The folding arms will not “accidentally” fold; you have to follow two steps in a safety sequence.
The table top is the same laminated bamboo 24” deep x 48” wide x 1 1/2” thick used with the above Wall Mount Table.
If you prefer a resin top, the choice would be GT1301E. If you already have a top or maybe prefer a different size, just the Wall Mounting Brackets are offered as a separate item, GT1315E. The Workbench with Butcher Block Top is a rugged shop / garage workbench with a 24” x 48” table top. 1 1/2" diameter levelers are supplied for you to be able to level this table on uneven garage floors. The working height is approximately 36”.
The table top is the same laminated bamboo 24” deep x 48” wide x 1 1/2” thick used with the above Wall Mount Table and Folding Table.
The workbench can be the focus point of your workshop in the garage (or wherever you want to locate it). Around it plan the addition of the type of tool organizers / holders, shelves, and cabinets to suit your needs. The Workbench with Butcher Block Top is also located in the eStore’s Product Category - Workbenches.
Our policy has been to only present product related information in these Newsletters, but I was recently surprised in learning about the potential hazard of using the energy saving light bulbs CFLs and thought it worthwhile to share with others.The CFL (compact fluorescent lamp) is rapidly replacing the old standard incandescent bulb in the home. For the same amount of visible light, the CFL uses 3-5 times less power and lasts 8-15 times longer if used properly. (Always check the packaging for accepted areas of usage, particularly in recessed lighting casings or for outdoor use.)
All CFL bulbs internally contain a small amount of mercury and there is the real potential of mercury exposure and subsequent poisoning if the bulb breaks. “Breaks” is the key word here.
I believe the real problem is nearly everyone handles / uses these CFLs as they would ordinary incandescent bulbs. There is nothing (ie. vacuum) inside incandescent bulbs and if you break one, not a problem, use a dustpan or vacuum cleaner and clean it up.
Exposure to mercury from a broken CFL bulb can have serious consequences if you are not careful in cleaning it up (particularly if you cut yourself) and to pets and small children.
Please check out the link to the EPA website on the suggested method for cleanup and disposal. Ventilating the room, don’t use a vacuum cleaner, wearing gloves and how to dispose of the debris are discussed.
I do not intend on being an “alarmist”, but believe if educated on how to handle this technology in a safe manner will be to everyone’s benefit.

I. Newly Added Product
We have added 5 Lifestyle Kits to the store since the last Newsletter.
We have added 5 Lifestyle Kits to the store since the last Newsletter.
As with all Lifestyle Kits, 1) they are priced 10% less than if the products were purchased individually, 2) are designed for a specific storage / organizational need and 3) will fit within a 5 ft. by 8 ft area. The newly added kits include:
At the top of every page is a Search button and entry field. This search feature is solely dedicated for returning inquiries relating to eStore product searches. It is not a general search engine returning results from across the web, but is internal to the GarageTek eStore only.
- Bike / Racket Activity Racks Lifestyle Kit – Version I
The Bike / Racket Activity Racks Lifestyle Kit - Version I is a grouping of two Sports Activity Racks, a basket, a shelf and two brackets. The two sports racks are the Horizontal Bike Rack and the Racket Rack.
On the eStore product page, the Bike and Racket Racks are shown in a series of photos being used for both large & small bikes and tennis equipment. This kit is pictured below and is located in the eStore's Lifestyle Kit Product Category. - Duo Bike Activity Rack Lifestyle Kit - Version I
- Duo Bike Activity Rack Lifestyle Kit - Version II
The Duo Bike Activity Rack Lifestyle Kit - Version I and Version II are suggested groupings of two Horizontal Bike Racks, a basket, a shelf and two brackets. The difference between the two versions is Version I includes a 24" Shelf and Version II substitutes a larger 48" Shelf.
Both bike racks and the other storage accessories can be used for large & small bikes and other sporting equipment. The two brackets are shown in the product setups storing a skate board and a badminton set, but certainly could be used for any other related sports items. Both of these kits are located in the eStore’s Product Category - Lifestyle Kits. - Wall Cabinet Grouping Kit - Version I
- Wall Cabinet Grouping Kit - Version II
The Wall Cabinet Grouping Kit - Version I is a grouping of two Wall Cabinets. One entire wall of my garage is lined with these wall cabinets. Under the cabinets are several bike racks, a wall mounted table and several shelves on one end. Each cabinet has it's "special" storage purpose, so we know just where to go to store something or find something.
The Wall Cabinet Grouping Kit - Version II, includes the two Wall Cabinets, plus a Wall Mount Table with a butcher block table top, a paper towel holder and a small multi tool holder and is used as a hobby or workshop center.
An alternate choice the above grouping would be the Mini Cabinet Lifestyle Kits - Version I & Version II. These smaller cabinets might be a more appropriate choice for garages with lower ceilings because it allows more space between the table top and the cabinet bottom.
